My Pretty Pony
Knopf/Whitney, 1989

My friend Lilja is one of 15,000 lucky ones to have a copy of My Pretty Pony in their collections. But there are 250 luckier ones who have the edition issued by Library Fellow of the Whitney Museum. One of those 250 ones is another friend - Iowabob.

He's got a rare one indeed, personally signed by King. It's his book you can see to the right. Bev Vincent said this about the book: "It is a very large book, not overly attractive. The cover is a big hunk a metal with a digital clock set into it. It doesn't fit on any bookshelves known to mankind and most people who have it use it as a doorstop!"

Iowabob confirms this.

Deluxe edition
Dolan's Cadillac
Lord John Press, 1989

Dolan's Cadillac was released in a limited deluxe edition of 250 copies, and another limited edition of 1,000 copies. According to "The Stephen King Companion" by George Beahm, there might be nine different states of this book, so be prepared to spend some serious $ if you want one of each! Originally the story was published in seven parts in the first issues of the Castle Rock newsletter. Like an early Green Mile:ish serial novel.

Other edition

The Stand
Doubleday, 1990

Now this is a large one! Described by Bev Vincent as "the size of family bible" the book measures 7,5 x 9,5 x 3,25 inches (19 x 24 x 8 cm). Illustrated by Berni Wrightson (yes, Mr Swamp Thing again) this slipcased, leather bound, uncut version of The Stand was printed in 1,250 copies. Thanks to iowabob for scanning this Captain Trips infested chunk of litterature (aswell as all the other books on this site... you rule, man!)!
The Waste Lands
Donald M. Grant, 1991

In some strange way I just love the cover of the third Dark Tower book. It's nothing else but one of Ned Dameron's illustrations from the book, but it sure looks better on the cover than the boring train/whirl/rose the Plume edition has... The editions, you might ask yourself? OK - 26 lettered, 1,250 limited and 40,000 trade copies. The trade one is still available from DMG, and can be bought in the amazing Dark Tower set (with The Gunslinger and The Drawing of the Three) - available now from the usual bookstores.
The Dead Zone
Easton Press, 1993

This unknown collectors item was originally part of a collection called something like "Masterpieces of Science Fiction" and could only be bought in a set of books. Now copies have been seen on eBay.

The book itself is a handsome black leather-bound book with a sewn-in bookmark, a ribbed spine and gilt-edged pages. It includes three full colour exclusive illustrations by Jill Bauman and an introduction by James Gunn. The book is unsigned and had a print run of only 1250 copies. There are flat signed copies out there, but still this is a fairly unknown limited edition book.

Thanks to Helmez Rivera for the image and some info, and to Bev Vincent for additional information!
